Asked during the World Economic Forum session in Durban what his thoughts were on his country being listed as one of the fragile states, the 93-year-old Robert Mugabe laughed and said his country was one of the most developed countries in Africa, after South Africa.
According to him, no other country has the same level of development as Zimbabwe. The country has universities and its literacy level is the highest in Africa.
“Don’t talk of us as a fragile state from an economic point of view. Yes, we have our problems, but we have achieved a lot.”
He further said his country probably had more resources than the average country on the continent.
