Harare - A South African church Evangelist has been arrested for entering Zimbabwe illegally, days after another 40 year old woman from the neighbouring country was dragged to court for smuggling cocaine .

Reports say Blessing Sibusiso Nyathi of Randburg was fined $30 in lieu of a 30 day imprisonment when he appeared at a Zimbabwe court.

He was arrested on Monday by immigration officials at Plumtree Border Post in Zimbabwe, while trying to leave the country without a stamped passport.

Nyathi admitted entering Zimbabwe illegally when he appeared before Magistrate Joshua Mawere.

He claimed to have gone to Zimbabwe illegally “to fetch his passport which I had left in another vehicle”.

Earlier in the week, another incarcerated South African, Isaura Masinga was remanded in custody when she appeared in court on charges of attempting to smuggle cocaine into the country.

Masinga who has been in remand for over a month denies the charges.

Prosecutors have since changed the charge to defeating the course of justice after Masinga failed to excrete the drug which had been detected by government scans.

Several efforts to induce her to excrete the drug as evidence through forcing her to eat solid foods have been futile, forcing authorities to change the charge to defeating the course of justice.
