The country’s Aviation minister Cecilia Dapaah has reportedly revealed that the government will offer a supporting hand to ensure the iconic football star thrive in the industry.

Speaking at the 2017 African Airshow in Ghana, President Akufo-Addo said: “I’ve been reliably informed that the captain of our senior national football team, Asamoah Gyan has obtained an air carrier licence.

Gyan becomes the first African footballer to run an airline. Many footballers from the continent have squandered their fortunes by splashing on posh cars and designer clothing.

Gyan currently plays for Kayserispor, a Turkish club.
