Zimbabweans in Cape Town are in for an early Christmas with a promising gig set for Cape Town and the De Doorns – a farming community in the Western Cape.
The music extravaganza which has pulled over ten artistes from Zimbabwe promises to be one of the biggest – in terms of the number of performers.
Talented lead guitarist Progress Chipfumo will headline the event and the other artists are Pax Gomo, Romeo Gasa, David Hondoyedzomba, Simba Saini King Kodza, Mike Gwenyambira, Baba Harare and many others.

Proggy as he is popularly known, will definitely keep the fans on their feet with his expensive guitar skills. Chipfumo entered the music industry when he joined Hohodza band in the 1990s, but later formed his own band, the Sounds of the Motherland after the split.
His talent earned him a name, and after a few years of making hit songs, he was counted among Zimbabwe’s best musicians of the 2000s.
In an interview with allnetafrica.com, Cape Town-based artiste and former Marshal Munhumumwe band member Simba Saini has urged fans to come in numbers and experience a unique performance from him, ”I just want to promise my fans that hamuna chamati maona’’. Saini is not new in the music industry having played drums for Bob Nyabinde, then co-founded the Makumbe Brothers band.
Event organiser, Sam Gumbojena said,” the hype is high and we are expecting a huge turn-out especially in the remote town of Dedoorns. Everything is set and fans are quite expectant’’.
‘’The welcome party is on this Thursday 2 November (8pm) at the Maitlander – a spacious bar owned by a young businessman, Blessing Chisadza. On Friday the 3rd we are in Dedoorns at Tibalo place and on Saturday the 4th all roads lead to Salt River hall in Cape Town. All events start at 5pm’’.
Ladies will gain free access into Salt River Hall between 5pm amd 7pm, Sam Confirmed in an interview.
