The Zimbabwean Parliamentarian and former top radio personality, James Maridadi, has dissected the Coup which dramatically ended President Robert Mugabe’s three decade grip on power.
Speaking in Cape Town to Zimbabweans, the Mabvuku MP said the taking over by the army and the subsequent installation of President Mnangagwa as the new leader has all the characteristics of Coup - only that the Zimbawean case was bloodless and glorified.
According to the Zimbabwean constitution, the army can only be deployed with the full authority of the President. This was blatantly violated with the army boss who is now the Vice President, Constantino Chiwenga, pulling the strings and executing a mouth-watering ‘coup’.
Seeing that the common enemy - Mugabe - was cornered, Zimbabweans across the political divide, including his [Mugabe] ‘pretending’ loyalists and followers gushed into the streets in a massive celebratory march.
