The former opposition MDC Treasurer General Roy Bennett and his wife Heather, have died.
The two reportedly died when the helicopter they were travelling in crashed in North America.

The Fomer Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, David Coltart, has confirmed the tragic news in a tweet:
“I have just confirmed from three separate reliable sources that Roy and Heather Bennett have been tragically killed in a helicopter accident in North America. I am devastated- they were two of Zimbabwe’s greatest patriots. My condolences are extended to their family & friends.”
Roy Leslie Bennett (born 16 February 1957), was a member of the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe for the seat of Chimanimani, where he is affectionately known as Pachedu (loosely translated as “Between Us”).
He was set to become the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Zimbabwe until Robert Mugabe refused to swear him in.
