Zimbabwe’s new President Emmerson Mnangagwa has ordered ministers, their deputies, top officials and parastatal CEOs to declare assets by February 28.
This is in line with the President’s declaration which he undertook when he assumed office that he will create a transparent, accountable and responsible public service.
”In line with the new thrust, it has become mandatory for all Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Senior Principal Directors, Board Chairpersons and members of state enterprises and parastatals, CEOs of State Enterprises, all Chairpersons and members of the Constitutional Commissions and Chief Exeecutive Officers of Local Authorities to submit a written declaration of their assets,” read a press statement issued by the Chief Secretary to the President, Dr M.J.M Sibanda.

The officials will be required to disclose details on their real estate, other property valued above $100,000, and shareholdings in businesses by February 28.
Mnangagwa who took over power from Robert Mugabe following a controversial military intervention, is trying to break with past policies of Mugabe in a bid to lure foreign investment and end corruption.
