Harare: Zimbabwe men want big condoms, Health minister Dvaid Parirenywata is quoted saying imploring local companies to venture into condom manufacturing.
Parirenyatwa said some Zimbabwe men complain imported Chinese condoms are small.
“If you want to be a big business (private sector), please manufacture condoms (because) you import condoms from China, and some people complain they are too small, so you need to be able to have your own condoms,” Parirenyatwa is quoted saying by a private daily.
A total of 111 million public sector condoms were distributed in 2017 for free, Parirenyatwa recently said as government scales up its fight against HIV.
Zimbabwe’s HIV prevalence rate currently stands at 13,7 percent and the country through its prevention programmes has averted 1,7 million Aids-related deaths since 1999.
