Renamo’s National Policy Commission interim leader Ossufo Momade, will be residing in the Gorongosa Mountain, Sofala province, from Monday, Rádio Moçambique reports.
The decision was taken during the fifth extraordinary session of the National Political Committee of the largest opposition party, extended to the General Staff of that political formation, which met this Sunday in Gorongosa mountain.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the meeting’s spokesman, Alfredo Macomisse, said that during his stay in the Gorongosa mountain, Ossufo Momade will have the mission of continuing the ongoing dialogue process for the peace in the country.
“The National Political Commission, meeting in the mountainous area of Gorongosa on June 3, at its fifth extraordinary session, extended to the Renamo General Staff, analysed all the party activities held since the death of President Afonso Macacho Marceta Dhlakama, reviewed the ongoing political-military processes in the country, including the continuation of the decentralisation process, a process of negotiations with the government aimed at swiftly closing the military affairs file, “said Alfredo Macomisse.
According to Alfredo Macomisse, the fifth special session had decided that the coordinator of the National Political Commission of the Party should reside in Gorongosa mountain.
Renamo’s National Political Committee urges members, sympathisers and the general population to remain calm, aiming at preparing and participating in the ongoing electoral processes.
