The Constitutional Court is set to hand over a judgement in the case in which Chamisa is seeking to be declared winner of the July 30 elections, claiming Mnangagwa’s narrow 50,8% electoral victory was fraudulent.
Chief Justice Luke Malaba and his full bench on Wednesday reserved judgment in the matter to today, but anxiety has remained high among supporters of both parties.
MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa claims the presidential results announced by the electoral body are fake, and seeks an order for a re-run.
The Court’s decision is final.
The ConCourt can uphold Mnangagwa’s victory or call for a re-run in 60 days.
