Harare: Zimbabwe has been provisionally chosen to host this year’s men’s regional COSAFA Cup tournament, reports said.
The tournament is set for May 19 to June 1 ahead of the African Cup of Nations scheduled for Egypt.
“There is just some paperwork that needs to be finished so that it can be sent back to the Minister (Kirsty Coventry) but we are very confident that the tournament will be played in Zimbabwe from May 19 to June 1,’’ Cosafa secretary general Sue Destombes who arrived in the country on Monday is quoted saying.
Zimbabwe are the record holders of the COSAFA Cup with five titles.
The southern African country retained the 2018 regional cup.
